Many people ask us “When should I get a tune-up?” The response they are expecting includes
a date and time after so many miles or years but our response to this question is
quite easy. There is no scheduled date to perform a tune–up. As long as your
engine is performing normal or to your expectations there is no need for a tune-up.
Maintenance on a truck should be a major
priority for a driver. The majority of individuals who handle trucks forget to
do a maintenance overview of their engines. The valve lash and injector heights
on a Detroit Diesel Series 60 diesel-fueled engine must be measured, and if
necessary, adjusted after the first 60,000 miles or within the 24 month period,
whichever may come first. Once the initial measurements and adjustments have
been completed, any changes beyond this point should be made only as necessary
to maintain the satisfaction of your engines performance.
